The county seat of Hodgeman County and the location of Hodgeman County Health Center is the friendly town of Jetmore. When entering from the south, Jetmore is hidden in a valley appearing out of no where with its hilly landscape and historic limestone buildings. Hanston is another main city of Hodgeman County.

Hodgeman County as a whole is comprised of friendly, honest and hardworking people who are committed to developing a healthy economy through business and value-added agricultural products and services. It is a prosperous, safe place to live, work and play and will continue to be a positive force in Southwest Kansas in this next century. A point of interest is the Haun Museum in Jetmore. Visitors come from all over the region to see the unique fossils and Indian artifacts from the written history of the area. The Haun Museum also has displays representing life after the pioneer period and into the 1920s and 1930s including displays of American involvement in wars from the Revolutionary War through World War II and Vietnam.

The county continues to develop with a reservoir being approved and in the works. When completed, it will be available for boating, camping, fishing and other recreational activities. Also, a popular dirt race track for dirt racing is located within five miles of Jetmore. This track features sprints, modified and stock-type cars.

The local schools are known for their scholastic achievements and are very well respected by the community. The high school football teams of Jetmore and Hanston are both state champions and continue to produce winning football teams.

The hospital and the school districts are two major employers of Hodgeman County and other thriving businesses include restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, a lumber yard and the co-op. Be a part of this ever-evolving community!
